CA to Compete for "Race to the Top” Funding

Last Thursday, Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger signed a proclamation convening the Legislature to meet in yet another extraordinary session, the fifth this year, to take the needed legislative action so that California can “compete for the largest pool of discretionary funding for education reform in U.S. history,” $4.35 billion in “Race to the Top” dollars available through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.
